Buffalo Trace

Frankfort, KY

The construction of the new Buffalo Trace bottling facility in Frankfort, Kentucky provided a variety of challenges. Historic preservation requirements had to be met on the exterior of the building in order to match the existing distillery facilities. We used tilt wall construction with a brick veneer insert for the exterior of the building. The tilt walls were over 60’ in height in order to house their new advanced racking and retrieval systems. The racking systems required FF FL requirements over 65/50, which were exceeded. In addition, our entire construction process took place while the adjacent faculty remained in operation, requiring special attention to detail and safety.
